​At Code Ninjas, kids learn to code in a fun, safe and inspiring learning environment, with a game-based curriculum that they love. Kids gain confidence by acquiring life-changing STEM skills, from robotics and problem solving to math and conditional logic.

 

In this hour long class kids will learn the concepts of coding by using Scratch! Students will learn how to build some basic games (and play them after too!) through a block based programming language.


 

Scratch is a free tool from MIT, is a block programming language targeted for kids to learn how coding works and to help them understand different programming concepts.

Account set up and laptop needed.  Account registration information will be emailed to people who reserved spots.

We’ve adapted our farm to give you and your family a chance to come and see our animals and enjoy a Drive-Thru experience. Visit all of our animals and take in the great views, smells, and sounds as you drive slowly around the farm and through the barn.

This tour experience Does Not permit any guests to get out of their vehicles BUT, you can get out of your house! Our washrooms will not be available during your visit – Plan accordingly.

6 PACK INDOOR BEACH BASH

11am-3pm

One time entrance to the per Kidsworld pass throughout the month of August on weekdays starting August 4.

Call in advance to 604-321-6800 to book a time attending.  You will need to say that you are a Kidsworld member, how many people are in your group, and you phone number.  Then when you arrive at the time you booked, show Your Kidsworld Pass for free entrance to drop in and do lots of activities!  Your name will be crossed off the Kidsworld member list.

Come enjoy some time in the sand during the open drop in from 11am-3pm at 6 Pack Beach!  There will be open free play for the kids to make sand castles, play beach volleyball, dodgeball, soccer, badminton.  For kids 8 and older, you can request hoverball when calling in advance to book your time.

The Port of Vancouver Discovery Centre at Canada Place is hosting a virtual 60 minute interactive education presentation.

Kids will discover what happens at the port and how it connects to your everyday life, as well as the importance of trade in our lives. They will learn about Canada’s largest and most diversified port with various activities that encourage thinking creatively and critically, reflecting, and communicating through listening, actions, words and pictures.

Learn about the intriguing world of honey bees with one of our knowledgeable beekeepers! Your outdoor presentation covers topics such as: different species of bees, why and how to light a bee smoker, the life cycle of a worker bee, pollination and the importance of honey bees. We will have some honey frames and an observation hive to show you!

 

PRESENTATION INCLUDES:

20+ minutes education under the tent in the courtyard, each family get their own picnic table

Sea Smart is a Vancouver-based charity that delivers online programs, school workshops, after school programs, summer camps and shoreline clean-ups. Our fun hands-on programs get people excited about our oceans and empower them to make the world a better place.

 

Ages 4-7

How does trash get into our oceans?

Through a fun, hands-on activity, your kids will learn about how trash from the land can end up in our oceans. Kids will be adding colours to paper and splashing water on it, so make sure you set up in a space where they can get a little messy!

Ages 8-13

Ocean Pollution Kahoot

Did you know that by 2050 there could be more plastic than fish in our oceans? Join Sea Smart in this workshop to learn about and test your knowledge of marine animals and ocean pollution!  This activity will also use an online program called Kahoot.  It would be ideal if you have a second device, but you can use both Zoom and Kahoot on a computer.

The George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary has 850 acres of wetlands, marshes and low dykes that is is ideally located for or the millions of birds seeking feeding and resting areas during their annual migrations along the Pacific Coast.  It is a great place for bird watching for all ages.  In August you will see birds flying south from Alaska and the Arctic.  These birds often have specialized beaks for digging in the soft mud, and feed in outer outer shallow ponds at high tide.  There are 6kms of walking trails.  Please note the picnic area is closed due to Covid-19.

Imagine if YOU could invest something so amazing, that YOUR invention was in EVERY household in North America!  Cool, right?!?!

 

Well, reinvention is the fastest way to develop a successful product, and that's exactly what we are going to do!

Bring blank paper, a pencil and pen and let's get creative.  We can't WAIT to see what you come up with!  Webcams are mandatory for safety reasons. Siblings can participate together or separately, if you have multiple devices.

Build a Biz Kids is a non profit society who help to develop foundational skills in kids through entrepreneurship. Students learn critical skills while starting their own business, step by step. Real Kids, Real Money, Real Life Experiences.
