The following represents a range of frequently asked questions which we hope will address your queries and concerns...

Please take a few minutes to read through as we're certain that your question will probably be answered.....!

 

Remember, you, or any adult person you invite to bring your child to KIDSWORLD events, are responsible for your own transportation to events and for arriving at the event/activity during the appointed hours, on the date specified, as highlighted on the KIDSWORLD Event Calendar. You will receive your Event Calendar, in your Membership Kit, when you purchase your Membership. We do not meet in advance as a KIDSWORLD group and bus to events......

 

1. How Many Events/activities can my child and I attend throughout the summer...?

You can go to as many of the "open" ("non-reservation") events/activities as you wish to...!

However, you can not go to any of the Reservation Required Events without a "confirmation form" in hand....! 

Of the 65 + days in the program, there are USUALLY 5 OR 6 days only which require "advanced reservations".

You are entitled to attend only one (1) reservation event (subject to availability and on a first come, first served basis)...!  

When you purchase your Membership Kit, the process will be more fully explained in the Membership Kit.

 

2. Can I attend the events any day that I want to...?

In the Membership Kit you will receive a Calendar of Events which will very clearly highlight the various days and activities scheduled for each specific day throughout the summer.

YOU CAN ONLY ATTEND AN EVENT ON THE DATE INDICATED & WITHIN THE TIMEFRAME SPECIFIED....!  

Please do not try to attend an event on any other day or you will be automatically turned away by the event...!

 

3. Do I, as a parent, have to attend the event with my child...?

The child gets in FREE to all the various events/activities

throughout the summer...!

The beauty of the program is that an adult also gets in "FREE of charge" with the child...! 

An adult has to accompany a child and be with the child at all times, while attending events, for legal, insurance as well as security reasons...!

 
 The adult person however is inter-changeable and can be an immediate parent; an aunt/uncle; grandparent,...even a neighbor,...as long as the person is over the age of 18 years...!

4. FOR THE BENEFIT OF NEW MEMBERS TO THE PROGRAM, SEVERAL KEY QUESTIONS ARE REPEATEDLY BEING ASKED, WHICH WE WILL NOW ATTEMPT TO CLARIFY....

QUESTION : If we have only one child registered, can we take along an extra adult such as my husband or a grandparent to the events and pay an extra admission fee ?

The relationship is intended to be "one child accompanied by one parent/guardian" offered FREE admission.

As the majority of events in the program are not events that you can actually "pay separate admission",...or are events that have been created specifically for KIDSWORLD (and do not even necessarily have admission fees), then you unfortunately can not take along another adult, when only a "one child family"...!

QUESTION : Can we take friend's children to events and pay for them separately to attend ?

UNFORTUNATELY "NO" .....for obvious reasons, you can not take a "non-KIDSWORLD" child to a KIDSWORLD event....as it would defeat the purpose of the program...!

QUESTION : What about children under the age of 4 (four) years and my baby/toddler....can they come along to events ?

  • The events are intended for the interest & maturity level of children over the age of four (4). As the age group targeted for the program is four (4) - 15 years of age, and intended to be a rich experience for all children and families within that age range, we ask that you make other arrangements, such as babysitting, for your younger ones (under the age of four (4) years,.. which includes babies and toddlers).

 

  • The absence of your younger child (children) will allow you to bond with your older children, and for you to more fully enjoy the experience.

 

  • If babysitters are not an option, then we might suggest that you wait until your younger child is old enough before having the family join and participate in the program.

Unfortunatley, this policy has had to be introduced to address past problems created by parents, who have been less than responsible in their supervision of younger children, while attending events. The resulting disturbances experienced by other member families in attendance, as well as the event hosts themselves, has not been appreciated ....!

It has been an extremely difficult decision to make, but in response to concerns expressed, we have implemented the above policy in the best interests of both the hosting events, as well as out of respect and consideration for all families who have invested in the program. Our desire is to ensure that their experience, while attending the various events/activiies, is a most rewarding expereince. Not all parents are as appreciative of baby packs, strollers, crying or disruptive children.

 

We ask that you kindly respect ALL guidelines, thanking you in advance for your understanding, appreciation and cooperation in working with the above policies. They have been designed to accommodate the majority of the general membership, while being fair to all members of the program...!

 

5. Then, who can register for KIDSWORLD...?

 

Children between the age of 4 - 15

As stated above in question, the program is intended for the interest and maturity level of children over the age of four (4), so ask that you not bring children under the age of four (4) to any KIDSWORLD Events.

 

 
 
 

 

 

6. I am a working parent and can't attend the events during the week,...is it worth while to join...?

 

Absolutely,.....the adult person is inter-changeable so that the child will not be denied the opportunity to attend a particular day.

That is the flexibility that the program offers. If you are not available to accompany your child on a specific day, your neighbor, a grandparent or any adult over the age of 18 years can take your child to the events/activities...!

 
Remember... the child owns the KIDSWORLD Membership Card !

7. How do we get into the events....?

When you purchase your Membership Kit, you will receive a KIDSWORLD Membership Card which the child must present as identification when attending any event.

By presenting the Card on the specified day, the child + one (1) parent (adult person) gets in FREE...!

 

8. What happens if my child loses the Membership Card Or Event Calendar...?

Instructions in the Membership Kit will assist you in replacing the Membership Card if lost or misplaced.

Without the Card, the child can not attend any events ...!  A very strict policy exists NO CARD...NO ENTRY...NO EXCUSE...!

Guard the Card with your life as the replacement fee for a lost Card is $25.00... !

There is also a replacement fee of $25.00 for a lost Event Calendar, so don't throw it out with the newspapers....

 

9. Can I transfer the Membership Card to another child or another family member (sibling in the family)...?

ABSOLUTELY NOT

Each child has to be registered individually for legal & insurance reasons...!

Should we find that the child presenting the Card is not the one that the membership was registered for,...we will withdraw and cancel your membership...!

 

 

10. How many kids can I take with me...?

With each child's registration, one (1) adult can attend FREE of charge; ....with two (2) children registered, you can take two (2) adults FREE...! 

Conversely, if you have up to three (3) children registered, one (1) adult can take a maximum of four (4) registered members with them as long as the children are well behaved...! 

The limitation is for reasons of security and control (supervision) .

11. Can I take other neighborhood kids along to the events...?

ABSOLUTELY NOT....the events/activities are for KIDSWORLD Members ONLY...!

That is unless the neighbor's children are also

KIDSWORLD members.

12. Where do we meet for the events...?

We do not meet as a group. 

You are fully responsible for providing transportation to events, on the date specified, and, by presenting your Card on that date, will then be admitted to the event.

You then have the flexibility to stay as long or short a period of time as you wish,...depending on the nature of the event.

13. How busy are the events going to be if everyone goes on the same day...?

 

We have been offering the program for over 18 years and know the ability of each event to absorb potential crowds.

Where it is likely to be a very popular day,....we have stretched the hours in offering the visitation,...while monitoring very closely the maximum capacity per event.

WE ALSO CONTROL THE TOTAL MEMBERSHIPS SOLD SO WE KNOW THE ABILITY OF THE PROGRAM TO ABSORB THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THE PROGRAM...!

 

On average a typical family will probably only attend approximately 12 to 14  events throughout the entire summer (due to summer holidays, camps and summer school commitments)...which is very manageable...!

 

14. I have three or four children, is there a family rate for membership...?

For legal & insurance reasons every child has to be registered individually...! 

No Family Rate as you are only paying $45.00 per child for a whole summer of activities (with an adult getting in FREE as well)....! $45.00 is incredible "value"...!

15. How do I get my money's worth from the program...?

Remember you only have to attend one or two events all summer to get your investment back.

Go to Playland for the day, or any number of events and you have already recovered your money.

Remember too, you only paid $45.00 and both a child and adult are benefiting from FREE admission ...it would cost you almost that much for two to go to one (1) movie...!
